Charity Fundraiser: For The Love Of It in support of the CBCF
In 1999, Corinda's mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. Corinda was looking for something she could do to fight this scourge of cancer, and she connected with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation ("CBCF").
As a recording artist, in 2003, she created her own charity (See Mission Statement). On February 14, 2004 Corinda performed and sang at her fundraiser, "For The Love Of It in support of the CBCF," holding two concerts back to back and raising over $10,000 for her charity.
The Role & Sage Advice of David Brodsky
Corinda Chandler met David Brodsky (of DaSBro Enterprices, in New York City) at the CCMA awards, though she didn't know it at the time. Later, when the singles were released as part of compilation CDs produced by Hillcrest, a phone call from Ross Allan suggested that Corinda should talk with David Brodsky. Brodsky-as it turned out-managed and promoted several Canadian country acts, including a recent Grammy nominee.
When David Brodsky and Corinda talked, his Jewish Bronx charm led to a very friendly working relationship. David helped her with the incorporation, her EIN number for the United States, and he helped write her media kit, the CBCF proposal, and designed her website, all of which allowed Corinda to focus on her singing.
David Brodsky was the first person Corinda called, after her hiatus, and he told her that, "I picked you for a reason," and that he had saved everything written about the first album. Corinda recently (mid-June 2014) found out he died; she was heart-broken to lose such a good friend and business collaborator.
